Seller's Description

The film traces the destinies of three American soldiers stationed in Italy during World War II. Fairchild (Corey) is an idealist who doesn’t believe in killing. Preacher (Taylor) is a religious zealot, who can’t see anything in terms other than Good and Evil. Dooley (Rooney) is an inveterate gambler who runs a floating crap game up and down the Italian front.
On the reverse is the 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1956 Alvin Ganzer Drama THE LEATHER SAINT, based on the novel by William E. Barrett and starring Paul Douglas, John Derek, Jody Lawrance and Cesar Romero.
Episcopalian minister Gil Allen keeps up his college days interest in boxing by working out at a gym run by his friend, Tom Kelley but declines offers to fight in an actual staged bout, until he realizes he could use the prize money to purchase equipment for local polio victims. Keeping his real identity secret and hoping to step away after one big payday, Gil signs a contract to fight for greedy promoter Gus MacAuliffe.
