Original 15 3/4 inch x 11 inch Engraving titled THE BELATED TRAVELLER.
Engraving by William Hollidge (active 1869 - 1895). Wood-engraver. Worked for 'L'Univers Illustré' (1873-81) and Illustrated London News.
From the picture by Heywood Hardy (1842 - 1933). Painter, watercolourist and printmaker, born in Chichester, Sussex. Specialised in genre, animal and sporting subjects. Studied at Bristol, Paris, Antwerp then settled in London from 1870. Exhibited at the Royal Academy. Provided illustrations for the 'Illustrated London News' and 'The Graphic'. Member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters
