Anna Tribe was the great-great-great granddaughter of Vice-Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson, victor of the Battle of Trafalgar, whom she closely resembled, and Lady Emma Hamilton. As the senior member of a family descended from one of the greatest of love affairs Anna Tribe took her role seriously. As life vice-president of the Nelson Society, she gave her support through regular attendance at events, talks about her family history; whether meeting dignitaries or unveiling plaques, she did so with gravitas and humour.
