Seller's Description

ORBIT ONE
by
JOHN E. MULLER

1960s BADGER BOOKS PAPERBACK EDITION

"Space fiction is no longer fiction in the same way that it used to be.  There was an element of distance and strangeness about it a few years back.  Now fact has caught up and threatens to overtake.  Science fiction today has become science prediction.
An atom is a miniature solar system in some respects.  The clustering molecules resemble galaxies, colloids are, perhaps, tiny models of the whole creation.  Man stands midway between the unbelievably small and the unbelievably huge.  This is one of the allies of sceince fiction.  We look down into the mysteries of the infinitesimal; we look up into the majesty of the macrocosm.
In all this vastness of stars and planets there must be other life.  One day we shall make contact with that life.  What will the aliens be like?  How will human culture compete with non-human culture?  Which will survive?
Orbit One is the story of such an interaction."

That's the blurb on the back.  If you have any previous experience with Badger Books, you'll know that what's on the cover rarely gave much of a clue to the contents.  For those who don't know, Badger Books was an ultra cheap British publishing house in the 60s who employed a small group of overworked and underpaid writers to knock out genre books to strict deadlines and page counts.  You can imagine that the result wasn't always the best-quality literature!  If you're looking for well-written stories, I have other, much better books for sale.  But if you're in the mood for some brainless kitsch, look no further!  This particular novel was written by Lionel Fanthorpe, using the house name "John E. Muller".

The paperback book is in good vintage condition.  Please judge from the pictures.
