Original 1842 5 inch x 7 1/2 inch engraving titled BACHARACH, ON THE RHINE.

View of the town Bacharach and the River Rhine, in Germany, with Stahleck Castle on a hill at left.

Engraved by Arthur Willmore (1814 - 1888). Subject and landscape engraver.

After William Leighton Leitch (1804 – 1883). A master Scottish landscape watercolour painter and illustrator. He was Drawing Master to Queen Victoria for 22 years. He was Vice President of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, on Pall Mall in London, for 20 years.

From ‘Fisher’s Drawing Room Scrap-Book’ published by Fisher, Son & Co., Newgate Street, London & 108, Rue St. Honore, Paris.

The engraving is in very good condition with minor age related toning in the white border. Reverse side blank.
