Avon Divided Glass Dish edged in Silver unused Hostess Platter American Heritage

This is a nice heavy glass dish banded in silver (silver is tarnished where it has been exposed to air).

This has never been used, though some of silver parts of the rim have been exposed to the air so they will need polishing.

Enclosed paper reads:
Congratulations! You have just received your Campaign 11 prize of beautiful glassware banded in sterling silver. And it looks lovely! Here are a few hints on how to keep it looking new.

If you use this glassware frequently, the silver should not tarnish. However, should you reserve it for special occasions, cover the silver edges with plastic wrap after each use to keep the air from the silver. A packet of silver polish is enclosed, just in case any tarnishing should occur.

To retain its rich lustre, wash by hand in warm water using a mild soap. Do not use abrasives or strong detergents. Do not wash in the dishwasher and do not soak.
