Ardrossan 1985, A1 Service Leopard Bus on Princes Street, Large Photo
Description: This is a Large 11"" inch x 8"" inch photo of an A1 Service 1975 Leyland Leopard PSUC3/4R Duple Dominant E type, pay as you enter, coach, registration plate MTV753P seen here in Princes Street, Ardrossan, and sporting a destination board 'A1 Adrossan - Clyde Terrace'. This bus was ex Nottingham City Transport who acquired it from new in 1976, from where in March 1983 it was passed to A1 Service, operating from Central Garage in Adrossan, but sadly it was scrapped in Barnsley in the early 1990's.
There was no central reservation in Princes Street in 1985, and the 'Flowers in Bloom' shop that is there today was Mackenzie DIY shop nearly 30 years ago. The level crossing is visible in the background, and a Mk II Ford Escort and a Vauxhall Chevette bring up the rear of the coach, whilst a Renault with a registration plate of RNS908W is parked across the road.
