Seller's Description
Original 1885 8 7/8 inch x 6 1/8 inch engraving titled APRIL ONCE MORE.
Design by Mary Lightbody Gow (1851 - 1929). An English watercolour painter. She was the daughter of James Gow and sister of artist Andrew Carrick Gow. She painted mostly figures and genre in watercolours, especially young girls.
Poem by Edmund Gosse (1849 - 1928). An English poet, author and critic. He was strictly brought up in a small Protestant sect, the Plymouth Brethren, but broke away sharply from that faith. His account of his childhood in the book Father and Son has been described as the first psychological biography.
