Antique Victorian Solid Sterling Silver Ornate Embossed Trinket Box 175 grams

Beautiful Victorian solid sterling silver embossed design trinket box.

Fully Hallmarked for London, lion passant(sterling) & date letter C for circa 1878.

Makers mark is J.L.R which is most likely Judah Louise Rosenthal though the dots between initials make this differ from his other pieces and also earlier than his registration by 1-2 years. This is still the best surmise I can give towards the marks.

Measures approximately 13 cm in length x 11 cm in width x 4.5 cm in depth and weigh's an impressive 175 grams.

Stunning embossed berry fruit with vine & leaf design that really does stand out to be a very unique trinket box. Has been repaired in the past with a few spot solder welds as pictures show and also the hinge missing the pin and one hinge, though still a great piece of Victorian silver that can be used as its intended for as a jewellery or trinket box. This would with working hinge be priced around £400-600 though with these defects we will price at a reasonable price leaving room for a good silversmith's to repair. This is still an absolutely beautiful and well desirable piece of Victorian solid silver and would make a fabulous gift or why not spoil yourself with this delightful trinket box with embossed berry fruit design.
