Antique Hardback Book, 1922, The Professor - Charlotte Bronte - Six Colour Illustrations, 1st Thus Edition

This sale is for a 1922, illustrated edition and 1st Thus edition of the book, "The Professor" by Charlotte Bronte and illustrated by Edmund Dulac. This book was published by J.M. Dent & Sons LTD and either printed in London or Toronto. The design is a hardcover with original cloth with embossed, brown writing on the spine and a embossed logo (which looks like A & E) on the front cover. 

This book is a rare find as it is the first illustrated edition containing six beautiful pictures throughout the book.

The overall condition is excellent, especially when you consider the age of the book is over 100 years old. There is some light spotting on a few of the pages with additional spotting on the edge of some pages which can be seen when the book is shut. The spine is a little cracked but there are no missing pages. The front and back rear covers are in excellent condition apart from a few scuffs. There is an old price and some sort of code written on the same page though these are in pencil.

Binding:- A bit cracked (see pictures) though no loose pages

Pages:- All present, none missing. Last space page has a bent corner.

Condition of Pages:- Pencil markings on the first page inside the book (old price). The box does contain some foxing (brown marks) at the edge of the pages (can be seen when the book is shut) and some very light foxing on a few of the pages.

Spine:- Excellent condition with some scuffs (see pictures)

Front & Rear Cover:- Excellent condition with some scuffs (see pictures)
