Hello there and welcome (kroeso) to my wee store.

I sell online in high-end shops and websites and pre-Covid used to attend trade fairs around the globe.  I have a huge stock of "bargain basement" items which were great at fairs for inexpensive extras.  I also have a massive stock of highly valuable and collectable items never seen before on the internet.

I find it heart-breaking that brooches such as this no longer seem to have the appeal they once did as they are one of the most versatile pieces of jewellery you could have.
A stock pin like this could be worn on so many pieces of clothing as a tie pin, lapel pin, hat pin, hair pin or even as a really scary piece of body piercing.

ABOUT THIS BROOCH
Constructed from solid 15ct rose gold (625 parts per 1000)
Old style UK maker assayed and fully x-ray tested.
Superb design of a rope detailed lover's knot as the head.
Dates to middle 19th Century (c1850s)
Fastens with a rose gold twist pin all in good order.
Condition is excellent, especially considering its age.

Length is 52mm.
Width is 9.5 mm across theknot.
It sits 5 mm proud.
Weight is under 5 grams (I don't sell quality like this by weight anyways)

You would expect to pay between £300 and £500 for a brooch / pin like this at a fancy antique shop, depending on your ability to hunt down a bargain.

CONDITION REPORT
Many of my brooches are VERY old and have some signs of this.  I ensure they are fully operational and can be worn from arrival but I do not like polishing them to "as new" because I feel this detracts from their history.  I will consider doing so, for a small fee, if you ask nicely ;-)
