In 1989 Angelica stepped onto the Metal scene with the release of their full-length debut self-titled album. Their debut was released on Intense Records with Ken Tamplin being hired to produce the vocals for the album as a "vocal coach". Dennis Cameron brought on frontman-Andy Lyon who had previously handled lead vocals on their two demos. After having been pushed by Tamplin to perform at a higher level, Andy soon became "burned out" and then parted ways leaving the band at the studio without a lead singer. Ken Tamplin then suggested that they contact Rob Rock feeling that Rob's vocal style would work nicely with the band's arrangements. Rob agreed to help the band even though he was at the time recording vocals for 'Driver'. Rob often came to the studio, with a swollen throat to sing vocals for Angelica but always hammered his lines out like a real trooper. One can be assured that any project including Rob Rock's soaring vocal work is worth looking into. Rob Rock is known for all his solo projects along with his work with Driver and the many albums he has performed along side guitar extraordinaire-Chris Impellitteri. ? The final line-up for Angelica's debut was comprised of Vocalist-Rob Rock, Vocalist-Ken Tamplin, Guitarist-Dennis Cameron, Bassist-Robert Pallen, Drummer-Scott Ernest, and Keyboardist-Marc Hugonberger. As a bonus, the last track on the album track-12 "Face To Face" was performed by frontman-Ken Tamplin and is very reminiscent of his work from 'Shout' who had just previously released their debut album before this project. In 2019 Girder Records remastered and reissued Angelica's full-length debut self-titled release.

Angelica is a Melodic Metal band from Ontario, Canada that formed back in 1988 by guitarist-Dennis Cameron. Cameron is noted for his pop sensibility infused in his Metal and Hard Rock arrangements. Dennis Cameron's love for the guitar began way back in his youth at the age of 6 when he first picked up the guitar. Dennis cut his teeth in 1986 when he joined a cover band that went by the name 'Antix' where he managed the guitar section for the group. In 1987 Dennis joined another band called 'Masquerade'. One night, while on an extensive tour with the band, Dennis was laying in bed and feeling all alone and empty inside. That night Dennis found God as he place he faith in the Creator of all things. Shortly thereafter, Dennis met vocalist-Andy Lyon and by 1988 they had put together a couple of recordings with the first being a 5-track demo and the second a 4-track demo. At this time Dennis was trying to land a deal with a record label, so he presented his material to Intense Records who in returned signed a 5-album record contract with the guitarist. Dennis' dream of having his own band was finally realized as 'Angelica' was now born.
