The illustrated book is in very good condition and comes protected in its slipcase - see photos of actual item.
351 pages covering the diary of the Anglo-Irish poet William Allingham, this was first published in 1907 and covers the period 1824-1889. Coming from Donegal, where he was in the customs service, Allingham published his first book of poems in 1850 and in 1851 began a lifelong infatuation with Tennyson. Tennyson is the central character of the book,
