Original 1893 4 3/4 inch x 6 3/4 inch Engraving titled A VIEW OF THE DINING-ROOM, DECORATED IN GESSO BY WALTER CRANE. WITH MR. WHISTLER’S PORTRAIT OF HIMSELF.
Alexander Constantine Ionides (1810 – 1890) was a British art patron and collector, of Greek ancestry. In 1864 he moved to 1 Holland Park, London and in 1875 moved to Hastings leavinh his son Alexander to complete the Aesthetic redecoration at 1 Holland Park by commissioning William Morris and Walter Crane.
