The number was hand stamped, causing the the numbers to be slightly misaligned.
Yes, it's preowned. I bought it in 1987 for my father-in-law as a birthday present. I wasn't included in his will but the lighter (with Chinese paintings & artifacts) came back to me - a non smoker. That was 2005. I kept it with other collectibles since. Like many antique collectibles, there's no certainty the lighter would work after servicing and maintenance job.
