Both the East End and Hendon are changing at too fast a pace, streets and old buildings have fallen to the planner. Before long, it will be but a memory, in name only. Yet, there was a time when the area was bustling and thriving, an area that had spirit, a close knit community that knew hard times, who had to struggle.

Though the gas-lit cobbled streets and lanes have gone, though many of the folk whose memories recalled a more vibrant past, have also gone. There is still that past, which cannot be confined to some coffin, for that past lives on in these tales.
