Seller's Description

TR For Triumph by Chris Harvey.
Ten, Twenty, and thirty years ago they used to make rough, tough, cars called sports cars, and among the foremost of the breed was the Triumph TR. The first TR's were built in the classic idiom, with a rugged chassis, simple body, ope top, and incredibly durable mechanical components. Despite their austerity they became immensely popular due to their ability to easily exceed 100 mph, their winning international rallies and races. These TRs led the way to exploiting the greast American boom of the 1950s, along ith their long-standing rival, the MG.
It is no small wonder that cars like the TR have started a cult, with owners and people who fancy them anxious for information. This book contains not only the facts and figures, development and production history of all the TRs, but vivid descriptions of what it was l;ike to drive one when it was new, a complete competition review, an intimate guide to restoration and trouble-shooting, the fascinating stories behind the people whose lives were tied up with the TR, and a guide to the clubs for people who want to be involved with such wonderful cars today.
Painstaking picture research has resulted in a superb collection of illustrations in both colour and black and white, most of which have never been previously published.
A hardback first published in 1983 (this is a 1988 reprint edition) by Haynes Publications
