Seller's Description

CHARLIE AND THE GREAT GLASS ELEVATOR by Roald Dahl. Illustrated by Quentin Blake.
'We've gone into orbit!' cried Mr Wonka.
Charlie has won Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, and is now on his way to take possession of it. With his parents and grandparents - and Mr Wonka - he's travelling by a strange new means of transport: a Great Glass Elevator!
But all is not going quite according to plan, for the Elevator has left the building and is zooming higher and higher into the sky. The grandparents are getting nervous, and Willy Wonka himself is obviously not very happy about things. Zoom, zoom goes the Elevator, faster and faster, higher and higher, until it gives a ghastly groa, turns over, and leaves them bobbing like balloons inside it.
'Did we go too far?' inquired Charlie, to break the eerie silence.
'Too far?' cried Mr Wonka, 'Of course we went too far. You know where we've gone, my friends? We've gone into orbit!'
They aren't he only ones. Nearby is a spacecraft with three all-American astronauts and the staff of a luxury hotel abord, and also in orbit a terrifying and inteligent breed of space monsters, the Vermicious Knids, which don't think much of these human invaders....What is Charlie do to put things right?

Quentin Blake's wonderful new illustrations bring to life this exciting adventure story which began in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
