Seller's Description
The ticket is in very good condition, would have said excellent but has very slight / flattened (hardly noticeable) horizontal crease and pin hole. As you can see from photo, flaws are barely noticeable, but I try to be as honest as possible with descriptions
The match was originally scheduled for the Saturday, but was called off and rescheduled on the Tuesday, with Colchester preparing new programme for rescheduled match – although I think it was just the cover to reflect new date, as rest of programme makes no reference to original match being cancelled, talks as though it was on the Saturday and has a competition that required mail entries to be received by post the following morning.
Third Division Colchester held their own and nearly earned an Old Trafford replay, but a Jimmy Greenhoff goal 4 minutes from time saw Man Utd scrape through – United would eventually progress to the 1979 FA Cup Final, but themselves lose to a very late goal.
