1978 Boxed .500 Silver Proof Coin - Bahamas $10 5th Anniversary of Independence.
This is a 1978 boxed, .500 silver proof coin as shown. The coin was issued for the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and has a face value of $10. The coin shows HRH Prince Charles, Prince of Wales on one side, the other side shows the Bahamas crest. The coin was issued to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Independence. The coin is housed in card and then sealed in plastic. The coin comes with a certificate of authenticity and the box of issue. The coin has the mint mark near the number 3 showing it was struck by the UK Royal Mint. The coin is listed as KM78.2 on a internet coin site, i assume this is correct.
Condition as photos, I think the general condition of the coin is good collectable for the age but i will let you decide. As you can see in the photos, there are minor handling and storage marks etc, these can be polished out. The box is in good condition, there are general handling and storage marks as you can see. The plastic case has become unsealed and the coin can be removed, it will not stay cliped together correctly.
