Jane Addams (1860-1935) – Ten cent stamp issued in 1940, the 80th anniversary of her birth and unlike most stamp icons just five years after her death
On April 26, 1940, the USPS issued a stamp to honor social scientist Jane Addams, who helped found Hull House in Chicago and was the first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
The stamp has not been used and is unhinged with original glue.
Please notice the small brown mark on the bottom edge of the stamp.
