1914 chatty letter Wm Walker, Boro Green Estate, Saskatchewan, Canada

A two page letter from William Walker of Boro Green Estate, Canwood P.O., Ask, Canada to his Uncle.  He thanks him and says that he "thoroughly mean to pay back Father's debt some day".  He describes the crops and that he has "been on the harrow most the season with four horses.  I had two just 3 years old and tow old horses.  I broke the two colts after they had been driven just twice.  I had two good games with them.  Once I broke a hay rack up & the next time the mare kicked and got on to the harrows and cut her leg...".  "I was with a Scotchman all the winter away from camp helping to look after about 100 of the cattle...The ice on the river was 4 feet thick in some places and we had to chop new holes about every two or three days as they froze up sold.  There is a picnic next week at Mt. Nebo but I don't think it is going to be anything very great..."
