Patent No. 26,190 A.D.1903 Improvements in Jacquard Healds and Harness
"I, Emil Oberholzer, late of Horgen, Obderdorf, Ct. Surich, Switzerland, now of 28, Sonnenquai, Zurich, Switzerland, Weaving Technologist, do hereby declare the nature of this invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, to be particularly described and ascertained in and by the following statement: As is well known changes in temperature cause harness or heald strings to lengthen or shorten and thereby twist. The healds being directly connected to the harness strings they also twist and thus frequently cause the warp threads to Break. My invention has for its object to obviate the said defects and consists in employing in connection with the harness strings flat guide rods which are preventing from turning by rails interposed between the same..."
