Indonesian Solar Eclipse Beer Can – 1983 Jun 11 (Used)

• Condition: Used as it has been opened – so alas no beer inside. One side is slightly faded compared to the other side. See images for a full appreciation of the condition.
• Comments: The 1983 Jun 11 solar eclipse was  a fairly long one, lasting 5m 11s on the central track. Although it passed over numerous islands, Indonesia covered a fairly large part of the track and many astronomers (professional and amateur) went eclipse chasing there. This beer can was made to commemorate this event and refresh various astronomers who had become very excited over what they had just seen. The picture of the dragon and the Sun was a logo used for this eclipse and appeared on many items such as T-shirts etc. One side of the can says: “The Solar Eclipse June 11, 1983 Indonesia”. The other side says in Indonesian: “Gerhana Matahari 11 Juni, 1983 Indonesia”. The last image included in the set of images is a 3D anaglyph. To view the can in 3D put on red and green glasses with the red filter over the left eye and the blue/green filter over the right eye. Sometime it helps to view the screen in a dark room with curtains drawn so as to minimize screen reflections. The offer price of this can is relatively high because although it has no beer inside, you will find it is quite rare to find on-line. It would ideally suit a beer loving astronomer who collects eclipse material or empty beer cans.
