• The conference had 1535 top leading lunar and planetary scientists. At the conference they announced the results of NASA’s MESSENGER probe to Mercury, which had been in orbit for 6 months. There was a session on active surface processes on Mars e.g. 200 new impact craters found. A couple of sessions compare the atmospheres and fluvial landforms of the Earth and Titan. Loads of stuff on Planetary mapping, asteroids, Kuiper Belt Objects, and much much more! A real snapshot of lunar and planetary research taking place in the year 2011, and all 1777 two-page abstracts are conveniently stored on this little memory stick.
