Thread: Confused about a wash label

  1. #1

Default Confused about a wash label

Picture is confusing me as it says hand wash but has a washing machine symbol with 40oC and a 4 above it so does anyone know whether they are handwash or are the machine washable or are they both?

Does it say what it is made of?

Personally I chuck everything in the washer together at 40C regardless of what the label says. Can't be ar*ed messing about reading labels and separating stuff out.

Sarah I would think to wash by both methods would be OK
As long as you put on a 40 wash.
If it is expensive & you dont want to ruin it stick with the hand wash just in case. x

Unique it's not an expensive item (only 99p), its part of a 6 pack of boys briefs that I am about to list and don't want to mis-lead the buyers

Tears of laughter running down my face! I'm sure I read a post by you Mel that said you were depressed because of having to buy clothes a size bigger - now I know why - you've shrunk everything in the washing machine!

I would hand wash to be on the safe side Sarah or if you are going to risk the machine I would choose a delicates wash.

100% cotton should machine was OK as long as the dyes are fast. If in doubt then wash separately or with dark colours.

For your purposes I would omit any mention of the washing instructions in the description if unsure and leave that up to the eventual buyer to decide. As you have already taken a picture you could use that as one of your 5 free pictures if you really felt obliged to reference it.

I would just use number 7 on washing machine, my machine has that many settings I use number 7 for everything and never harmed anything

Thank Gawd for that. My doctor, scales, tape measure and I thought I was putting on weight.
