I don't want it either - please can it be made optional at least. There is no way that I would want my buyers emailed every week pestering them to leave feedback - Gazza, please rethink this and either delete it or make it optional.

I totally agree with you on this thread and the other one.
I always thought feedback was just a courtesy not mandatory. If it becomes mandatory it will cause a whole host of problems for both buyer and seller. Why should we have to leave feedback within 7 days. It is totally unreasonable. What about people who work at other jobs or go on holiday. I could just mark them as spam but then it would mean that I would receive no emails from Ebid at all. I could or probably would miss an important one.

I believe this has been brought in at the request of some members. There have been numerous threads from some sellers who view feedback as very important and get upset when it is not left. They have asked for a way to chivvy buyers into leaving due feedback.
So likely with the best of intent eBid provided a way. I, like others, think it a bad idea and hope eBid will rethink it.
It is a case of you can please some of the people some of the time....etc.
I don't agree with sending out an email every 7 days for 75 days,
However if we are to have this new feature I see no problem with ONE and only one reminder email perhaps 30 days after a sale, 7 days is a bit soon as a cheque takes a week to clear.
Gazza can this be changed to just a one time reminder after a month ? and the email must clearly state it is an automated email sent by ebid and not the seller.
Anyone agree ?

I second that Jimbo. It takes about a week for an item to get to the USA and even longer to Canada. Also in the case where a buyer is bidding on several items they would be receiving their first request before they have even had their combined invoice! This does not look professional at all.

I have never asked for feedback. I'm happy to make a sale, feedback is a bonus.
An automated request looks like spam, no matter how nicely it has been worded. It's easy to ask for it with AAL if a seller want to use it, but please don't force it on us. One of the things I like about eBid is that so many things are the seller's choice.
I have asked buyers for feedback before and all barr one that i asked gave me positive feedback.
I was also very thankful i received feedback requests from sellers on eb ay when I forgot to leave feedback as a buyer.
I would say its very common to forget to leave feedback and if i received one automated email after 30 days I would not consider it spam and would be thankfull for the reminder.
If feedback was not left what would be the point of it ?.
