Default Second Non-performing seller in less than 2 weeks!

It seems that some sellers come on here, list their items and then forget about them! I have had to start 2 paypal disputes in the last two weeks for items from different sellers. I don't wish to moan but if I was a new Ebidder this would put me off coming back here.

Yes, I know what you mean... I wonder if its worth checking on how often a seller logs in (it states this somewhere on the listing I think?) before placing a bid / buying an item ?

That is interesting and a neat way of seeing how active a seller is. I've just looked at a listing at random to see if I can find a way of seeing this, but no luck. Can someone point this out?

    It only works for shops.

I have also found that if you look at a sellers items using start time most recent, then it gives an idea to the time since they last did a new auction

Surely that includes auto-reposts and proves nothing?

    Thanks Kim

I get that bit. I thought photopheline34 meant that you could see how often the seller had logged into ebid. I am trying to work out if this would be a good thing.

    What do you all think?

    Some thing like this

As ebid currently stands I think it would be more clutter on the listing page, but perhaps worth putting on the About Me page.

Make sure you leave appropriate negative feedback. eBid sez:

The successful buyer or seller is not answering my emails
Please leave appropriate feedback for the user. If a user receives 2 negative feedbacks in a row or negative 1 overall we will automatically be alerted to this and will review the users membership at eBid. We monitor all negative feedback and will take appropriate action.
So hopefully they should pick up on an absentee seller. Not that it would help you but would possibly help those that come after you.

Checking how often people log in would not really work as people can stay logged in. Equally someone could post a listing and not come back to eBid until they were notified of a sale. So simply not visiting the site on a regular basis would not necessarily make them a bad seller.

The two biggest problems are Run Until Sold and x Days From First Bid. I think these should have a life (say 90 days) and expire unless the seller visits their My eBid page and clicks a button to reset the life counter.

Ahh, I didn't know it was only for shops... thankyou bykimbo.

I always thought 'run until sold' was a bit dodgy anyway, what if the seller got ill, or worse. The listings would still be there even if the seller wasn't? Or do ebid check on this status?
