It is, I believe a hoax email that has been circulating for some time.

However it does show the depths of feelings both in Australia and in the Northern hemisphere and I am very aware what a powerful tool the world wide net is for spreading propaganda of ANY description.

As an individual I am very careful to sift information and try my best to get to the truth behind facts.

This is an incredibly difficult task and is very frightening when viewing some extreme web sites.

Since the growth of the internet I must admit that my views are becoming increasingly radical. I Still wish for the peace and love ethos of my hippy days but I am damned if I will allow my country's justice system, which has been a model for so many democratic societies for so many years, to be corrupted.

It strikes me as being an insidious and very clever method of psychological warfare.

I agree with everyone who thinks that people who come to Britain should live under British law.

It's a sorry state when people coming here want to live under different laws while at the same time the PC brigade are calling for the banning of the English flag, public Christmas decorations, and St George's Day marches.

I read this some time ago Papa and it was John Howard not Kevin Rudd who made some comments so this is not a quote from this year.
I would agree that while living in a country you must abide by that particular countries laws.

I didn't quote this link as factual... it was just one of many links concerning this matter.
It was chosen at random to illustrate another view of the email and alleged news report as opposed to the views expressed on this forum, which as you say, are many and varied...as forums in a democratic country should be.

I did say I believe it to be a hoax. This is not stated as fact just my opinion after reading some various articles.

The general gist of my post was to point out that whatever you read, where ever you read it it is a wise move for the individual to make their own judgments on the truths, near truths, half truths, opinions and downright lies that can be bandied about on the internet.
