Well than you for the welcome. However your remark about walking into a persons house is a bit off as most people don't charge you to walk in. Since I pay fees and paid for the right to be here then I believe we as a whole should have some say. How so we help the staff at Ebid? I am a software designer and developer and would love to help impliment these and more improvements. We need to get this site as user friendly as possible and topple the evil Giant. I want to go after the evil Giant with full force and we can if we get people to jump ship. We will only do that rhough ease of use. Have they talked to Auctiva about making thier site functional with Ebid? That would be a great match! How can I help...How can I help drive this site to success?! I will do whatever it takes as I feel the evil Giant must fall. This is the best platform I have found so far to do this via auctions. Amazon is doing via fixed price. over the next couple months I will grow here to over 1000's of auctions. I will swell this site with as much as I can. I just want to know they will be giving just as hard in return. We are a team and we need to prod each other. I challenge all sellers to triple thier volume each month. If we do that in 9 months time we can over take the evil Giant and surpass them. Good luck to us all.

I think you should know that many of us still sell on there - it's known as 'not putting all your eggs in one basket' over here!Personally - I don't like auctiva - but I'm sure others do.

As Jude says, many of us use both feebay and many other sites in addition to using ebid. Selling here is a business for me, not a religious conversion.

However it does need more customer friendly functionality and needs not to fear looking like the evil Giant. If the evil Giant treated us all fairly and we all had a good relationship this conversation would never have happened as Ebid would have never been.
You do realise that eBid has been around for 10 years don't you. It hasn't just appeared because some people feel the need to leave e**y

I had many succesful years selling on feebay, the reason I came to eBid is that as a seller of low cost craft items feebay became a non- viable option. Since my time on eBid I have had a good return on sales and have found no problems whatever with getting used to the site. I find eBid a very easy site to get used to and although there are improvements that can be made ( and I am sure they will over time) I would hate it if those improvements were detrimental to the pricing structure of eBid. Anyone who comes over from feebay or any other site should accept eBid as it is, get to know the site, make suggestions for improvements but dont expect eBid to become a clone of feebay, it aint going to happen, I believe eBid management have in place a sustainable business plan and ebid is and will continue to evolve on a steady basis. Look at what works for you and set your business plan to that end, use several sites for different items, some items sell well on ebid, others do not, so find the best place to set you items and enjoy the challenge and reap the rewards

I agree about the need to make it easier for bulk editing/stocktaking/refreshing, it's a bit of a nightmare at the moment, mostly because of the lack of an ability to purge without going to customer services to ask them to do it (otherwise it's sitting there deleting them all manually at 75 auctions a time), so although there is a spreadsheet, which is easy to use once you know how, the purge/replace option is made unnecessarily difficult.

As for Auctiva, well, I usually pass on auctions using that - most of the time I can't see the images, and half the time I can't see the descriptions either. If I click on a link that is supposed to go to a larger picture, I get taken to a page which invites me to join Auctiva. I did once, and it made no difference - except they now send me the occasional email. I don't suppose I'm the only one having trouble with them, so by using it you're probably cutting out a lot of potential buyers.

You'd be much better off just hosting your own images and using the html, at least everyone will be able to see them.

There are a lot of software engineers on here who have offered to help out, and someone posted on here who claimed that they were developing a multi site auction/stock management tool (presumably like Aman Pro and Monsoon) and who wanted information about an API so they could integrate eBid into it. No joy, there is no API and it looks like there isn't going to be in the forseeable future. There have been a lot of threads on this, it's very frustrating.

I'm afraid that the only solution at the moment is to sell on multiple sites, as the current eBay sellers and buyers are getting scattered. If I ever get kicked out of my job for good, I shall probably get one of the management tools, sell on as many sites as they will manage, and list independently on eBid (as I am doing now) depending on the level of sales elsewhere.

I have to say though, listing the way it is at the moment is a total protection against megalisters, they wouldn't waste their time here.
