Default How do i qualify for seller protection on poopal

How do i qualify for seller protection on poopal?

I have noticed that none of my sales that have been paid for via poopal have been marked as "eligible for seller protection", yet all for the other side have. Also sales from my own website are the same. I can't find anything in the FAQ about how a sale is meant to qualify. It just says that it must be marked eligible and follow the rules. What makes a sale eligible?

    Any advice welcome.

I'm pretty sure paypal seller protection only extends to the dark side.

Yes Madelaine , you are right...protection is only for the other place...as they are the same company....
a bit of a con in my opinion...as they still charge you ( sweetly ) for using the system....if you pay , you should be covered....
but we have to use it as most of the buyers want it.....papa.

I wouldn't depend on p*ypal for any kind of seller or buyer 'protection'. if you are in a position where you need to claim, they will do all in their power to find a way out of paying!

I don't know your location, but before signing up, I would suggest you go to - eB+y - community - discussion forums - PayP+l and see how many sellers are having problems - at least here in the United States. It sees to me there are a rash of "refunds" given to buyers for all types of reasons - some very (IMO) fraudulent ones.

    Thanks everyone.

Hubby was looking into it as he was a bit dubious as to what happens if someone (a buyer) used a forged/stolen credit card to pay for items etc and where would we stand - as we could end up sending items to then find out that cards are stolen, real owners would end up doing a charge back or something and then we would loose out!!! If that makes any sense?? Hubby is dictating to me lol!!!

Very worrying really - shame more buyers don't use Google.

Seller/buyer protection only exists with PayPal via GreedBay.. Someone from PayPal even admitted that on my local news! Scam! PayPal and GreedBay are the same people and want people to buy mainly from Greedbay so they get both their PayPal fee and FVF's. Both hands in your pockets! No doubt PayPal will extend buyer/seller protection to cover other auction sites etc eventually, but no doubt we'll see an extortionate increase in fees for it too!
