don't think I'd take either - they would both want looking after, feeding, cleaning up after, coaxing out of bad moods, demand attention and only offer affection when it suited them!

I'm afraid to say the cat would win hands down.

The man is old enough and able enough to find his own roof over his head - maybe the cat could too at a push, but cats are more personable than men (humans), less demanding and take up less room in the bed. Oh, and don't snore as loud so at least I'd get some sleep at night - sorry guys.

The cat definately. No dirty washing, cooking dinner for it, snoring next to me, throwing the odd insult, no football on the TV all weekend, followed by any sport you can imagine watching just for the sake of it, no ironing well the list is endless really and the cat offers unconditional love and does not answer back.
