Yes they exist. Generally you will find them among companies that produce oil paint of student grade. I believe even the Brit company Winsor Newton may have a gold.
What you will find with metallic oils is an inferior gold effect. Similar to the poor effects found in acrylics.
If you're working in 2 dimensions ( canvas et al ) paint your metallics the way the masters have done. If you're working in 3 dimensions ( sculpture et al ) there are decent 'hobby' oil based metallics that suffice.

I know there is a metallic gold oil, but several metallic irridescent acrylics, not used them in a painting though.

I love her artwork and, coincidentally, it was seeing her work that inspired me to ask.
I fancy doing a sort of abstract Peacock feather, but they are pretty shiny and metallic looking which is why I asked. I'll go for acrylics I think, and maybe just some interference paint.
I have some inteference paint, people keep intefering![]()

In Europe there is a 'hobby cel paint' called Vallejo. It comes in small
squeezable bottles and is waterbased. Their metallics are quite bright and they offer a varied range. Cel pigments have excellent covering qualities but if you're working on a large scale I don't think it would be cost efficient. They also have a range of quick drying alchohol based metallics which ( again ) are quite bright. But unless you seal it the damp English air will ruin it.
You're welcome.....
