An old post - but deserves a reply!
Jeep Cherokee has never been known to hold its price very well. I went to view a 5-year old orange estate version 200 miles away from me, as its ad looked good. Sadly it was a rust bucket and a waste of my time. (No suggestion yours is).
Haven't seen yours, but assume it is in top condition? However, it's a buyers market and money is generally tight at present.
I sold a Jeep CJ6 (lwb) recently, 1974 model - got a good price (must say though it was in vgc and well maintained).
I cannot suggest a value for it - perhaps a 4x4 dealer may give you a clue (then add on his inevitable mark-up and you'll get an approximate worth). Try some of the 4x4 Clubs - they have lots of discussions on their forums - usually more accurate that dealers!
Now, if you had a LandRover - that would be a different matter ...
Best wishes
