Still fairly new to selling on eBid, I appreciate that reputation is everything but it will take time to earn this. Previously with FeeBay since 2004, I earned a 100% positive feedback, but now I find that auction site is becoming uncomfortably expensive to use - hence joining eBid.

Now retired, I find that my hoarding over the years has given me the problem of a lack of space, and so I hope to gradually reduce my 'collection' of everything from books to postcards, collectables to souvenirs, and more besides through my Stores at eBid - clearly the Rising Star of auction sites.

Postage and Packaging:
For packaging, I use a combination of new and recycled materials to keep costs reasonable. My postage charge includes actual postage costs plus around 20-30p to cover packaging and associated materials. My default shipping method is by Royal Mail standard 2nd Class post or Standard Parcels to keep costs to the Buyer down. I always retain Proof of Postage.
For very heavy or oversized items, I use ParcelForce 48 as standard. (NB: My advertised ParcelForce48 cost is for deliveries to their Zone 1 (most of UK) - other Zones, Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Isles of Man and Scilly, and Northern Island are at a higher rate, so please ask).
I can also provide postage by Royal Mail Standard 1st Class, Recorded Delivery, or Special Delivery at additional cost, on request of a Buyer - in which case the Buyer must contact me with such request before he/she pays for the item, so that I can advise the new total invoice price.
If the value of an item exceeds the maximum compensation offered by Royal Mail, currently £39.00 (1st class) or £30 (2nd class) - from 6 April 2010 these amounts will rise to £41.00 and £32.00 respectively - I can insure it for the appropriate amount at additional cost (eg. currently £1 for enhanced compensation up to £100). NB: UK only.
Where an auction is available to countries outside of the UK (including the Republic of Ireland), international bidders should request postage costs before bidding/buying so that they are fully aware of their postage costs. Such postal service will be by Royal Mail Airmail (weight limit 2kg).
Payment:
Presently payment is through PayPal only - your cooperation to make payment within 3 days of winning an auction or buying with a Buy It Now or Fixed Price, will be greatly appreciated. I will accept UK Postal Orders if you wish, but please let me know in advance if this method of payment is required.
Multiple Item Purchases:
Where a Buyer purchases multiple items, I shall automatically provide a postage discount based on the combined weight of the items, but please let me know if you are bidding on more than one item so I will not expect payment until the last of those items is won.
Note that sometimes the combined weight MAY exceed the maximum for the postage method selected, and the alternative postage method may be more costly - in such cases I would send the items individually (if 2) or in 2 or more parcels (if 3 or more). In such cases I will let you know your options in advance.
The invoicing system presently is not perfect, and thus I may need to send you an invoice by email. If in any doubt at all about postage for multiple items, do please contact me.
DO NOT PAY FOR MULTIPLE ITEMS UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN INVOICE FROM ME, SPECIFYING THE TOTAL AMOUNT DUE.
Every payment incurs fees, and thus if the incorrect amount is paid, then the balance due will necessarily include any extra fees incurred.
Returns Policy:
All the items that I list for auction I warrant as honestly described, and all the buyers that I have dealt with have experienced no problems because of this.
Sadly, occasionally, an item may arrive that has been damaged in the postal system even though I have provided appropriate packaging. In such a case, it is vital that the Buyer contact me immediately, retain all of the original packaging for inspection by the postal service, and ideally provide me with a photo of the damage to the item. A claim may then be made to the postal service. Please do not merely initiate a chargeback on the sale - keep in touch so that we can come to a satisfactory conclusion. Good and timely communication is good business for both the seller and the buyer.
I will not accept returns where a buyer alleges 'bought in error' or similar - there are adequate stages in the auction bidding and payment process to be aware of what you are buying. If it is mutually ageed that an item may be returned, the cost of such return must be borne by the Buyer, and the item posted back in its original condition and packaging within 3 days of receipt.
Feedback:
On all successful sales I always leave positive feedback.
It is polite for a satisfied Buyer to do the same on receipt of the item(s), so I will then be aware that the item has arrived safely. If there is any problem, please do contact me prior to leaving your feedback, so I have the opportunity to give you satisfaction.
Non-paying Buyers may receive negative feedback and blacklisting - they cannot expect anything else!
Inappropriate Communications:
Please do not contact me with with offers to buy before an auction has closed, or to buy outside of eBid - I will not respond. Such communications will be reported.
