Thread: Sales down accross all venues

  1. #1

Default Sales down accross all venues

I generally average about 3 sales a week on Amazon and 4 sales a week on here. Get the occasional sale on Play and Green Metropolis, maybe 1 every 2 months over both sites. But my last week has been very poor with only 1 sale on Amazon! And that was for a £1 book

Anyone else suffered poor sales the last 7/8 days?

For quite a few mnths now, I find the 1st and last week of the month are better then the 2 middle weeks, having said that I've done very well last week.

Thanks, interesting. I had not noticed that trend myself. Maybe too busy! I have suffered a few bad weeks over the last 3 months but I think this must be the worst!

Sales have dropped quite dramatically over the last couple of months on Feebay.
But this weekend has been good with 15 sales over there and 2 over here.
lets hope the sales rise again.

I have been selling on line and elsewhere for many years.
Sales are definitely down all over this is partly due to the recession but also thetrend has always been low sales at this time of year.
Probably due to Holidays and school holidays where "Mum's" spending is going on other things.

I genuinely believe sales will pick up by end of September going towards Xmas.

It is hard times but try to hang in there. With the trend now towards watching spending due to lack of cash then I am sure more people will be hunting for bargains here rather than in the high street...that's if you can keep your items at a competitive price.
If your items are selling in the supermarkets for less then you are likely not to sell them...so steer away,if possible, from those things that can be bought more cheaply during the supermarket shop.

    Hi,
I can see what you are saying. For me, most of my stock is not available in the high street so I dont have such competition. I had not noticed much of a sales dip in the summer before, but had seen other sellers with this problem in the past. Its just been such a slow week I thought I had to mention it! Bit bored n all! Luckily I dont have to do much hanging in as I work full time and only sell for the fun of it and something to do! That is one of the really great things about eBid. No fees without sales and no need to relist unsold items every 3 months like on Amazon!

I must be bucking the trend as I'm getting busier all the time.

Last July I had 52 sales and so far this month I've had 200 not counting YDC. Okay, I didn't have the bead shop last year, so, to put it into context, of those 200 sales, 99 were from the bead shop and 101 were jewellery. Only another 3 jewellery sales to go and I'll have doubled my sales against last year.

I know it sounds like I'm bragging (and I am) but really, it's good news for every seller on eBid. How many of my buyers will think, "I got a really good deal on this bracelet on eBid, I wonder if there are any *insert your product here* listed there?"

Quite agree! And it is only the last week that has been poor for me. Doing fine if I look at last 3 months.

Same here, this month has been slow but then it is holiday time for a lot of people.
Although it makes me laugh that my daughter has been having to wear
at work a Back To School T-shirt since last Monday.

I'd complain to the manager if I were you; she looks so much better in the eBid T-shirt.
