    Unhappy Parcel not recieved

    Hi,

I'd bought one item (Nokia N95) last month and the item was posted by USPS Priotrity mail international by the seller to India ( My Home )... But later i could track it only till "out of customs". After that there wasn't any updates. Can anyone advise me on the steps that i could take to start an enquiry.

    Thx, Jijo

Have you gone to http://www.usps.com and done an inquiry through the website? Hope your package turns up soon!

I ordered some customised Teeshirts from Café Direct last October.

The goods were tracked until they left the USA and then I got a postcard from Royal Mail saying I had £15 customs to pay - which I paid through their site.

Then a week or so later I was left another postcard asking for the £15 again. I rang Royal Mail and they said they had no record of the parcel that I had previously paid for - and neither did the customs office - both parties said it was the other department's responsibility.

So I have paid for the teeshirts, the shipping and the customs and still dont have any teeshirts.

The teeshirts were bought from the USA as they had the bazzyboy logo on (my brother's racehorse who lives in Australia) and the teeshirts are unavailable in the UK otherwise I wouldnt have bought them from Café Press.

I dont buy anything from overseas sellers now as I cant afford to throw money away

Yes, I think Royal Mail are running a scam on T Shirts. I ordered a load from Cafe Press too.

Card came through the door, asking for £13.50 Customs (only £5 of which was customs, the rest is pocketed by Royal Mail for 'handling'), went to get them and they refused to let me have them because I hadn't brought the card!

Apparently none of the ID I had was sufficient, the fact that I knew who the parcel was for, what it contained, how much it was worth and where it was from meant nothing. It seemed that they wanted to keep the shirts. It was only after I made an official complaint through the website, and found the card (buried under heaps of books) that suddenly my ID became sufficient, they let me pay and gave me my parcel.

I'm paying the extra and getting them sent DHL next time, like I normally do and have no problems, this one time I was being cheap and got them sent normal mail. Never again. No wonder the Royal Mail is going down the pan.

If the item is showing as out of your customs, it ought to be in the hands of your mail delivery service. Do you not have a local office or other contact point that you can call to find out where it is. If a parcel goes missing here, I advise the customer to contact their local sorting office to see if it is being held for them. Do you have a local equivalent?

If the parcel has got that far, your seller is likely to expect you to take reasonable steps to locate it in your mail system. Checking this sort of thing is going to be much easier for you than for a seller in a distant country.

Good luck, hope it turns up!

Have you not just tried talking to your seller? This may be better than starting a dispute

I have to disagree with this, if the seller is prepared to ship overseas, then the seller should be doing the chasing, not the buyer. Just in the same way if you brought from a large company from abroad, would you like to be told by them that you have to find the item? The simply answer is no

Sarah, I think you've read more into my post than is there. I'm simply saying that it makes sense for the buyer to check at his end first. I always ask buyers if they would please check with their sorting office, and this nearly always turns up the item. On the extremely rare occasion that it doesn't, then I refund in full and decide if it's worth chasing or just write it off.

Much simpler for the recipient to contact their sorting office than for the seller (for a start, they know where it is!), and if the item isn't delivered because the buyer isn't it, and they don't notice the card or the dog eats it, it doesn't seem unreasonable to me for them to take this simple step. YMMV.

I must have read too deep into what you were saying. Yes I agree a simple request would be fine. However, if the buyer is not able to locate the item, then the seller would have to treat it as any other sale

    Default I can understand .. :)

    Guys/Ladies,

I am really confused. See, is it my fault that the item didn't get in my hand. If i had any clue that where the item is as of now then i would be glad to do it. Why should i waste my money and wait for the seller to search for it.

If a seller promises to ship the item, whether it be USPS or FedEx i just want the item to be in my hands right. So it is the soul responsibility of the seller to make sure he chooses the right parcel service which complies the rules of shipping an electronic item. I'm really frustrated my friends. What shall i do.

I did follow up with the seller. I'm contacting him every day about any updates.

Friends, What shall i do, if it is confirmed that i will not get the parcel. Is there any way that i can get the money back.

Thanks and eager to get your help

    Jijo
