This is common on here I have felt. The same happens when you put it in the alll about page. I think it is to stop scammers getting hold of it, but not to sure

The site software is designed to recognise & delete email addy's.

Yep I have mine as an image on my website OK for the Mk1 eyeball but stops spambots harvesting it

Thought you had somthing more technical in mind that I didn't know about.
I keep trying to put self hosted images into my listings but it doesn't seem to let me.
Is this something that they have stopped allowing unless paid for?
