Thread: Over half a million auctions at last!!!!

Well I agree Ken, there's going to be some cd (dvd etc) sellers who may be a bit nervous with a new giant walking amongst us.

For myself I'd love a massive football programme dealer to walk into e-bid with 200/300k listings (if such a dealer even or ever existed!)

With my slimmed down (well sort of) one man band operation I should be able to match or undercut such a dealer a fair amount of the time.

I wonder how many folks were employed getting all those listings shipped in.

I should just add that I only have about three or so cds listed in my attic shop at the moment but they are all cheaper than my new competitor ..... I think my chances of a cd buyer finding them in an ebid (google aided) search have just improved ten fold

Betamonline have listed loads of titles that I have not seen on ebid before, and lots of CDs that are quite hard to find, plus Betamonline on eBid is more competitive than other place I looked for the same items.

Yes, but on the other hand we might not want to be 'unhappy' for attracting such large inventory from elsewhere

And, as some of the others have said, it might attract many buyers as well - and that's what we're looking for to start with - especially if he has hard-to-find CD's for a good price there

Probably a mixture of my paranoia and over worked hard drive but has anyone else noticed more of a drag on the e-bid site today?

Other 'sites' seem to be working as normal but I'm struggling a bit on here.

I hope our servers are coping with the increase

    Hi Ken,

I think it's great they have come over here, I agree with GilfidianRudge, I sell CD's and DVD's and it's not a problem to me whatsoever, anyone who can bring more people to ebid and find CD's they may not be able to find elsewhere, can only be good for us, especially if they tell there friends. When I go onto a site to look for something, maybe a CD or book etc, I always end up seeing other things on maybe a front page or list of categories, and think that looks interesting and I take a look, sometimes I buy sometimes I don't, but in normally ends up in my favourites, then I look at the clock and an hour has gone by, so I think it will be good for everybody, let's hope I'm right!

Well, I for one am glad to see one of the big guys move over to us! While true it's a major amount of listings, isn't that really what we at eBid want? To grow and be competitive with you-know-who??

I say 'bravo!' and with all the turmoil over there I think we'll be seeing many more big-time sellers movin' on over folks!

Well, with that volume of listings it's not really worth me reporting my daily little bit anymore.
Will give brother in law another nudge to sign up here, cos he's into cd's/records.
