Thread: Loads of views but no sales .... any ideas ?

  1. #21

    Smile Thanks Cmjewels925

Thanks cmjewels925 for those great, helpful posts! I recently paid for a designed store on eBay, so I can't completely cut my ties there yet....invested a lot into it and need the higher traffic. But I am a new member here and took ebid's offer for the seller+ program - not wanting to miss out on anything, you know - I am getting views but no sales yet - I guess I'm just used to the higher traffic on eBay and need to be more patient.

But in the meantime I changed all of my auction listings based on your earlier suggestions, so we'll see if that helps!

Im the same.Ive got 2 or 3 different products, prices from cheap to expensive, lots of views but no bids questions or sales. So far Ive paid for a month seller+ and a few extras like gallery featured etc totallling 20 quid or so and Im looking at getting zero back.
Beginning to think eBids a waste of time and money.

I think listing on Ebay and Ebid is probably realistic for alot of sellers. It's hard to beat the traffic on Ebay. The fees are low on Ebid and this site may get more popular with sellers plugs and hopefully management advertising. I bought a seller+ so I'm in here for awhile yet.

Alot of sellers say to plug Ebid and that's good, but there's need to be advertising OUTSIDE this little world we call a forum.

I'm a bit confused here Hockeybiz. I just clicked your auction link in your other posting and it came up as closed or deleted.
Do you actually have any auctions running?

This thread has been most interesting (added by the fact that I'm in much the same line of business as footybits)
I first logged onto to ebid yesterday and I must say that it all looks very helpful and friendly.
Basically it seems to me to be a very 'seller' friendly environment as opposed to the fee paying alternative which is highly stacked towards the buyer - and will become even more so if their plan to eliminate seller feedback goes ahead.

My impression is that whilst us sellers will be attracted to e-bid like moths to a flame it's going to take a little more persuasion and promotion to get the buyers to come with us.

I'd have signed up for life last night if only for one small thing ..... I've noticed stores on here with many thousands of items for sale but a feedback score of just 2!

It's not so much the money aspect.....£50 quid for life is still a good bet on a sight that should have (certainly deserves) an upward trend.....it's the thought of all that time and effort listing without much reward.

Guess I'll have to try for a shorter cycle first.

When I do though I'll be sure to remember the excellent tips within just this one thread.

The number of views counts even you press your own listing page, which is not realistic. You might get 1000 views that's done by your own clicking

peeps you must remember this is not a multi billion dollar company with investors running around like headless chickens throwing cash at it to promote , i was like you all up til i thought about what a small advertising campaign would cost it`s not just a few thousand pounds / dollars , it`s around £40.000 for a 30 second tv commercial more if you want between certain programmes or peek times ,

the best advertising comes from word of mouth you tell ten people if two of those look at ebid they might tell 10 people each etc etc

by advertising small you can make it big

The counter only counts a visit to one of your own pages if you're not logged in.
