Thread: Should users with a strikethru have restricted posting rights on the forums?

  1. #1

Default Should users with a strikethru have restricted posting rights on the forums?

In light of the idiot's we've had on the KT the last couple of days, both of which had strikethrus so the main site, as opposed to the forums had picked up on false details or a reason to hold theit account.
Should users with a strikethru have restricted posting rights on the forums?
Say for instance no more than 5 posts?

I know what ur sayin.....& my first response would be to keep them off!
But then I remembered a few genuine users who had problems when they were signing up......& came straight to the forums to get help & advice.
This one's between a rock and a hard place me thinks

That's why I said restricted posting rights, instead of no posting rights.
I suppose the problem would be allowing enough posts to sort out a problem, whilst stopping spammers.

I think only users who sell or buy should be allowed access to the kt then everyone here is doing something productive towards ebid as a business and given the right to post here as a privilige

I agree with OTVB, people with strike-throughs aren't necessarilly bad people. It can be something as simple as mis keying your address or phone number that causes it.

However I think 5 posts should be enough to be able to point them in the right direction.

I agree restrictions should be put in place, the forums have been a nightmare recently with all the old posts surfacing, restricted access would at least let the genuine ones come in for help when needed, and cull the trolls at the same time. My opinion for what it's worth.
Great books reasonable prices please click on the logo below and browse around I have quite a selection for you to choose from.
