Thread: Won an item ...

    Default Won an item ...

    Hey all,

New to this site but thought I would try it out. Really fed up with thiEfBay and wish there was a decent alternative, but fear this isn't it. Anywho ...

    I've just won a PSP.

But it's nowhere near it's worth and the guy has no feedback (much like myself).

    My questions are

How often do people put things for sale on ebid but don't follow through with sending an item or contacting the buyer?

And how do you make payment, I see the paypal option but can't find how to pay through paypal anywhere.

And are we covered in anyway if i do pay, and the item isn't sent?

    Thanks,
    Marc

save your money it will be a con unless i am mistaken.

stick to good sellers with decent feedback and leave newcomers well alone who are selling expensive items very cheaply

I agree with Sexywolf, if you have not paid already, walk away. My advice would be to try through the AAL message system so that there is a record on the site (if you haven't already), inform support@ebid.tv and buy from a more reputable seller.

paypal isn't safe wherever you use it.
If a scam seller on ebay empties their account after you've paid them - then you may win a dispute- but won't get a penny. paaypal never use their own money to make up the shortfall.

Paypal protection is a joke. Don't forget, they are NOT reportable to the Financial Services Authority anymore. It is all done via Luxembourg (European Union rules!!!). You threaten to do chargebacks on them, they threaten to close your account. I know this from experience when I was robbed of money via Paypal a couple of years ago.

When you do have a dispute, you have to post stuff to Dublin, or ring up 0845 numbers. Their menus are so complicated, it is difficult to get to speak to a human. Even then, you don't get the info you require.

If you pay by Credit Card, you should be insured though, even if you pay through Paypal.

If you don't get joy via Paypal, go to the Card Issuer and try that way. I would.

    Good luck
