I agree with you on the indexing, there is very little in the way of advanced searches. Gazza has responded to a message of mine regarding plurals in the search but i do think it needs a major overhaul, especially if the site is to grow as once you get nearer to million+ auctions it will be important to break down searches to be more specific.
If you include the laptop specs in your item description, I think you can tick the 'Search Descriptions' box and find particular words. Although i'm guessing that will be very sensitive too (i.e. with plurals, etc.).
For now We'll have to sit tight and wait for search improvements :-)

The best way for ebayers to promote ebid from greedbay is when you sell something add in with the parcel the link to ebid, you can even add on your buddy points link if you so wish. But I cant see them wanting to type all that in. So just send a compliments slip saying something like.

www.ebid.net Please check out my other shop on ebid.

Thats the only way we can freely get them transfered over from the expensive side to our great auction site, & yes ebid is growing very fast. My sales in the last few months have been going up so obviously we're doing something right

Remember add that compliments slip in with the parcel, every bit helps.

Well what i would like to know is how to you get people to bid on your stuff when you have no Feedback points on ebid? because i got only 1 bid on one of my items and the rest have not been touch, if things don't start selling i am going to try to sell them else where.

The best way that I found is to buy stuff as well. I have been on eBid for about 4 months now and have over 100 feedback. Get involved with promotions such as the YDC monthly charity auctions and NYKmedia's promotions.

Also put a link to your listings in your forum signature - people on here tend to click on the link to see what you are selling.

Also, make some banner adverts to your auctions and put links on places like myspace etc.

Some of us use one of the feedback sites, like http://www.auctionfb.com/ It puts a small logo with your FeePay f/b number on all your eBid listings. This will give potential buyers confidence.

It does the job well, and looks nice too!

    Hope this helps, Simon.

I think it's external links that you're not allowed, such as if you have your own store outside of eBid. I just copy the web address from my eBid store and paste it as a hyperlink behind some text. Also, find out your buddy link code in your 'my ebay' section and paste this in your signature. Tha way, if anyone is browsing the forums which hasn't joined eBid yet and is interested in your posting, you might get some buddy points.

I just did a search and can't see that you have any auctions listed at the moment. Also as others have suggested, trading is a two way thing, so if you would like the site to work for you why not try buying as well, if we were all just sellers who never bought things then nothing is going to move, stands to reason.

I hope you're up for some constructive criticism,my friend!
To get people to bid on your stuff, first of all they need to want it.If it is something they want, you then need to present it in an interesting and/or appealing manner.
Your pre filled information & stock photos don't exactly inspire any interest in what you're selling. Some of the pictures are totally illegible. The title of the disney resort guide is too long for the allocated space, you could it edit it down to fit.Your descriptions are too short & abrupt.Have you read these items yourself, tell your prospective customer what you thought about them?
Your auctions say to me that you have put no effort or interest into your sales,so why should I as a buyer be interested.
In short if you can't be bothered, why should buyers?
