I've seen a copper pull over a driver that was drinking in Rayleigh Essex. Let's face it how can you drink without taking your eyes off the road. If you take your eyes off the road you are driving without due care and attention. Don't you agree?

When you sneeze you close your eyes so you take your eyes off the road then,
they'll be set on banning that next.
Rayleigh Traffic are notorious, they're supposedly the worst in the country.
These days the motorist seems to be seen as fair game, a little more common sense all round wouldn't go amiss.

I'm in favour of not smoking whilst driving. When I was a smoker i did smoke whilst driving, and it could be very distracting searching for the fags, lighter etc... Banning smoking whilst driving inconveniences a few, ( they can always pull over to feed their addiction) but it potentually saves lives so it gets my vote.

i was never a desperate smoker/driver

i dont search for nothing

i only light up before i set off and when im totally stationary at traffic lights/traffic jams if i feel like it

the mobile phone must use in car mob are far worse - phone goes - search in bag look away from the road rummage - dangerous - look at phone and not on the road - dangerous - god forbid any of them text

When I was driving for a living though (finished 5 years ago) I had the worst case of continuous sneezing and choking fit on the M1 that I'd ever had in my life and it scared the living sh!t out of me

to be fair though Chris when you drink from a can you lift your head right up in the air so your eyes are off for longer than a sneeze. Eating and smoking tho I don't have a problem with.

Well I do drive & sneeze, I eat polos & drive, I tend to headbutt the wheel if someone hits my rear .
I sometimes drink water & drive but I have a straw & I dont take my eyes from the road, I tend to feel around like a blind person, if moby rings I ignore it or if someone is in car with me I get them to answer it.
Yes I did smoke & drive (not now coz I dont smoke) just finishing off coughing up the years of crap in my lungs.
I have seen many cops, ambulance crew driving around Bedford whilst eating smoking & drinking. They use their CB radios whilst driving & have seen some use the incar pc thingy when driving.
What makes me laugh is piggys are around and they claim its illegal to have 1 or more headlight or sidelight out. Yet peeps in Bedford tend to get away with it especially the ethnics.
Some idiot kept flashing me the other night so I pulled over to check my rear lights & they were all ok. As they drove past they shouted at me "Drive faster B***h"
I was doing 45 down a 50 road FFS.
