Default Is the DSS run by idiots or what??

Lol, my mum received a form today from Income Support demanding to know why she can't work and stated she may be required to attend a medical.

It's only a matter of months since she claimed and went through the hassle of providing evidence etc. My mum is now registered as Partially sighted having had 2 failed cornea transplants and been told her sight will never improve. She has really severe rheumatoid arthritis which is slowly crippling her (also what cost her her eyesight).

Yet I know of people who are perfectly capable yet have never worked a day in their lives who are left alone no questions asked. One of the people I know states "Mood swings" as a reason, more like bone idle.
    Makes no sense to me

I know people who are capable of working but dont, that really really does Pi** me of, if they did'nt flaunt the system as they do maybe there would be more help for the genuin people that really need it.

    Goodluck to you mum Shelly

My husband has been through the same hassles. Nearly 3 years ago he was on sick leave and was medically retired from his job as he has stomach, back + DVT problems. He was then on incapacity benefit which was suddenly withdrawn after a short while as they decided he was fit for work. He went for several interviews but didnt pass any of the medicals so all the information was sent off to the DWP who then had to admit he was unfit for work and reinstated his benefit.

    Hows this one...?

I was still having treatment, after the chemo and the radiotherapy...but they insisted I attend for a medical to see if I was fit for work.
I had to get a taxi to the centre...and when they looked at me they paid for my taxi and promptly put me in another one to take me back home...

Someone somewhere didn't do their homework.

Thankfully that was a while ago and I am now retired and well again.
