Pheasantplukka - It was well over the top that they were making arrangements to put kids in care. That would punish THEM for your sisters "crime". I dont think you should to to jail for not having a TV licence but, on the other hand, no-one FORCED your sister to get a TV and watch it unlicenced. She did that herself, thinking, oh, I'll get away with it. Same as Ms Hilton, I suspect. Most of these transient nobodys assume that just cos they have a face everyone knows that they are somehow above the law. Emma - if someone isnt going to pay a licence fee, then they may not pay a fine. Then what? Anyhow, TV licence should be scrapped. You can get TV on your mobile. How do they police that?

My sister was a single parent at the time actually, struggling to pay off debts that a previously violent partner had left in her name, with 3 kids to support all under 7!!! I suggest you think before open your gob in that tone with me, especially when it concerns any of my family........and another thing I can assure you my sister thinks a far cry away from the pointless spoilt bratt hilton ............OK?

I could understand and support your sister if she was stealing food cos she had no cash but having a telly isnt a matter of life and death, especially since you need to have a licence to use it lawfully. Nothing personal against your sister and I do sympathise with her situation, but if you are debt ridden etc, then I would think a telly is WAY down the list of priorities, wouldnt you? Roof over your head, food in your belly and a bit of warmth. Everything else is simply wants, not needs. Ive been homeless myself so Ive been there too. I do agree though the point about your sister. She and probably everyone else on the planet is worth a million Paris bloody Hiltons. No offence intended.

and ironic that she has the millions but is probably depressed as feck living a meaningless life and beign told what to do i bet day in day out even with her millions and others have little but are leading a better life

its not her fault as always i blame the parents lol ESPECIALLY in this case

and for the record i dont think not paying your tv licence is acrime at all - bloody stupid if you ask me that in this day and age anyone should have to go thru humiliation and go to jail for that stinking thing

I wasnt asking you or anyone else on this forum to UNDERSTAND anything of my sisters situation, I was merely pointing out that I do not agree that Ms Hilton should of got off her sentence after 3 pathetic days and used what my sister had to do to pay for her crime as a comparrison - that's all, so if you dont mind keep your pious, up your a*se, holier than thou comments away from any of my family ....comprehende?

and lets not forget that the hilton scrubber was caught drunk driving twice before she lost her licence and still thought she was above the law and did a big fat middle finger up to the authorities and drove when she was banned, thats why she is doing time and then pathetically cries she is too cold and cant sleep and they let her out, well she's back in again and I'm glad, my sister may of dared have a tv and not pay the licence, she did her time and so should that pointless trog!...........

You resort to personal insults and profanity so I cant agree with you there about your way with words. The law with TV licences is crap but really quite trivial. But for things like ID cards and Childrens Index to name but two then I will willingly die opposing these hideous things, even for you and your sister and her kids, even though I dont know you and you insult me cos if these nightmare proposals get through, then looking out for the TV detector van will the least of anyones problems.
