Thread: Assistance selling on ebid !

  1. #1

Exclamation Assistance selling on ebid !

    Hi there !
We owned a ebay shop and had a number of purchases a week with praise from our customers on quality and delivery, but due to Ebay's cruel listing charges we have come over to a very friendly & understanding Ebid.
My concern at the moment is sales are non-existent on Ebid although we have pleanty of views on our products. The same products were sold on ebay with excellent feedback from our loyal customers. We were dispatching goods on just about a daily basis.
I know we are new on the block and everyone has to be careful who they purchase from... and time is a factor !
If anyone has had any experiences of this nature, I would really appreciate any input.
    Thanks
    RJWebworx

    Hi there. welcome to EBID.
Sales are not 'non existant', some of us do very well. However you do need to change your selling model to fit with EBIDs strenghts- feebay strategies rarely work here.

If you do a forum search for selling tips you'll get a lot of good pointers, but the first and most obvious thing to do is send your new store link to those 'loyal customers' you've referred to

    Smile Thanx !

Thank you for your help ! It is most appreciated...
It is nice to know that there are fantastic people here on Ebid..... I have sent my previous Ebay customers our webshop link, but I think they are not sure about the pppay system, but only time will tell .... Funny you mentioned contacting the old ebay customers !!!
Will look into the other info and see how things work.
Thanks again for the help and being so friendly
    Many Thanks & Best Wishes

Hi, also don't forget to put a link to your stores in your signatures both on the forums (look in user cp at the top of this page); and also in your e-mails.

Gothicina has some flyers available (link in her signature on the forum). Unfortunately they are in the old colours and have the old logo. But as the saying goes.. any publicity is good publicity.

    Hi,
you've got some lovely stuff in your shop.
As the other's have said, put a link in your forum signature,
also add one to all your emails.
You can also use the plug your auction forums for a plug thread.
If you have the knowhow, you can add your items to googlebase.

Google are running a promotion giving £30 of adwords free
    http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=93036
If you haven't already done so, add your shop to the cyberdosh site http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=91340
Shops listed on their site are duplicated on my website as well, & we're hoping that others will duplicate the list on their sites as well.
It would probably help if you built up some feedback over here, you can also put a link to your eBay feedback on your All About page, there are a couple of sites that do this, again details are available on the forums.
Yes my flyers are out of date now I haven't updated them because Gazza said they were getting some done, if I get the chance I'll see if I can come up with something to tide us over, once the official eBid ones are available I'll remove mine from my site.

Thanks for the kind comments & the great assistance you all have shared with me !
I have checked the links and signed up with some of them and I have also signed up with Google base, but I'm not sure how the bulk upload works although in time and perseverance I'll get the hang of it.
Thanks also for the user cp set up info 'hope I set it up ok'

    Default Selling on eBid

Thanks for that Goth, will PM you

RJWebworx - welcome to eBid and the creme de la creme of auction site stores We're not a bad bunch here and there's always someone around to help out if there are any problems. Glad you decided to join us and, like Gothicina says, set up a thread to plug your auctions and promote your store everywhere and anywhere you can. Gift of the gab is excellent, I find, as is browbeating your friends, wearing down every family member and generally rallying your entire neighbourhood into visiting the site to pour over the bargains.

Best of luck and here's to your success on eBid!

I have been experiencing exactly the same problem since I joined ebid in October too. Not one sale. Very frustrating. I am still selling on ebay on a daily basis but would prefer to switch over to ebid. I think that ebid needs to promote itself more as there is 10toimes more activity on ebay.
