jeez i still use a kodak dc 200 plus about 8 years old and runs great pictures are ok good enough for net any way it`s been dropped about 40 times soaked in the rain and still goes great
why do i need another camera lol and £40.00 postage is pathetic the seller should be banned from selling either start auction higher or use bin
Aah yes but a Minolta is a decent make, and I agree 2MP is fine for snapshots, pixels is not the be all and end all of digital photos, a decent lense is the prime requirement.

the way i look at these things is if your into photography and like to exhibit your stuff on web pages etc. then you need good quality if like me you mainly use for putting auction pix up then cheap and cheerful is best i got cam corder for nice stuff and can take pix off that if required no good throwing cash away to look good
I have a Nikon Coolpix 5200 GREAT camera with Video and Sound too..The early ones (coolpix 2100 ish) had a battery cover fault and the Mode knob was rubbish.......Only thing I dont like is the fact its a special battery........If I was to recommend a Camera to anyone it would be to go for a well known make (IE Olympus, Nikon Pentax (What happened to Pentax?) And Get one that takes AAA or AA Batteries Becuase I carry three spare batterys with me and its never enough..so if you have the AA or AAA's you can buy those almost anywhere.....Having said all that I use my Scanner most of the time to Take the photos!

Pentax are still around and doing very well. The Pentax K100D is an an example of a good camera that takes regular AA batteries.
The good thing about cameras that take those type batteries is (as you've said) that wherever you happen to be in the world, they will probably be available.
Having said that though, cameras that use the Li-ion block batteries can still be used with regular AA batteries. You just need to get yourself a battery grip. Available for most recent models (DSLR) I believe.

The Lithium Ion battery in my 350D lastss for ages, I bought a spare as backup but to be honest it's never run out when in use!
