For my own research, how are you guys finding sales of books & magazines here?
I have around 1000 items that could be listed - do you think it is worth my while doing it here?

I've been here since November of last year & have had very few sales. 4 to be exact. Have listed over 260 books so far & it is very discouraging. Keep moving them over from High Fee Bay (where still get sales) but wonder if am wasting my time & effort. Unless Ebid goes out & does some serious advertising I'm afraid this site is going nowhere. The site is Great to work on but lack of sales makes it pointless. Good luck in whatever you decide. Richard

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Perhaps I'll try some cheap paperbacks to start off with and then see how things go from there. Got a few others listed but haven't really been pushing their sales the way I should.
Keep trying with eBid, things have picked up since I first came here

I have about 250 listed, a lot of them have been added in the last few weeks. I've done quite well with them. Two sold today, one last Friday. They were all quite 'academic' stuff. I'm not sure that cheap paperbacks are the way to go, I haven't sold any of the SF I've listed. I'd ask BLOXBOOKS+ if I were you, he's sold enough now to know what goes best.
2250 listings? That warrants a mention alone! I'm going to try just a few paperbacks along with advertising elsewhere to see if it has any impression on views & sales. Thanks for responding to my query, though, as I've listed a few signed ones and have more of them if things look positive.

From what I have seen, the sellers with more auctions running are the ones who are more successful. Buyers find one item they like in a search and then check out the store of the seller to find more. Obviously the more items you have the more likely you are to have one of them come up in a search.

Thanks for that Damian, I'm going to give it a try anyway - it's free listings afterall Friend has almost 1000 listed now and is getting sales every week. Regular buyers (loyal customers) came over from the other side via our website, so I know the website thing works.

Just made another book sale! Thinking back I've sold a regional geology book, two poetry books, an art book, four art source books and a children’s annual in the last few weeks. I don't know if anyone can see a pattern in that, predominantly non fiction perhaps? Most of the buyers were new to Ebid. I think I'm getting slightly better sales than on *bay last year where I had approx. 60 books listed in my shop book section (pre reduction in visibility). That strikes me as quite encouraging! It's true that I've got four times as many books listed here but undoubtedly the reduction in shop visibility on *bay will have affected sales negatively. I can't give any info on that because I haven't listed there for ages.
