Channel Isles or Channel Islands ?? help!!

So which one is correct?

Channel Isles or Channel Islands?

One of the categories in my shop includes books from Guernsey, Jersey etc. I vaguely remember a conversation I had years ago, and am sure I was told you must only refer to them as The Channel (this) NEVER The Channel (that).

I wouldn't want to offend anyone, so if you can tell me if there is a correct title for this part of the world, I thank you in advance.

Technically, either. An isle in just a small island. I guess it'll come down to personal or colloquial preference.

I would not worry too much over this, as the Channel Islands / Isles are part of the UK. The postage price is the same!

If in doubt, just name the islands!!
